Their love has spanned the continent. From the east coast to the west they found each other. Again. This time, they fell in love. Kim and Des knew each other in high school but it wasn’t until they reconnected at a friends wedding in 2009 that they realized the need to be together. Kim packed her bags and ditched Florida for the sunny coast of California. On a perfect San Francisco day last September on the island of Alcatraz Des and Kim got engaged. They now reside in gorgeous St. Augustine, FL but wanted to head back “home” to Eastern Massachusetts where they grew up for their engagement session. Since they are both huge fans of the Red Sox what better place to go than Fenway Park! I am so honored that they chose me as their photographer and I was blessed to share a private photo session inside and around Fenway Park.
Thank you Kim and Des for having me be part of your life and I can’t express the excitement with which I look forward to your wedding in September 2012.
We met up on Yawkey Way just outside Gate D. I had thought they might need some time to warm up to the camera and me but I was way wrong..jpg)
They joked with me about not really being a silly-in-love couple.. but they are. They smile from ear to ear and spend a lot of time laughing..jpg)

We thought this was hilarious. Des (aka Jimmy James) paid for Kim’s ring with his own “Jimmmy Fund”. Maybe it’s just an inside joke. Des showed off his knowledge of the laws of balance and gravity and carefully placed Kim’s ring on the Jimmy Fund box.
The sun was at a perfect angle for silhouettes and daddy long-leg shadows.
These don’t really need any introduction. The Park speaks for itself.

This is probably my favorite shot of the day. We were told that we have “one minute” left inside the park so I told Kim and Des to make it good. Kim launched herself into Des’s arms and we wrapped up our hour inside the park.
Outside the park we hit up a couple landmarks including Ispwich Street. Coincidentally Ipswich is where Kim and Des hail from.

Kim had asked the powers-that-be at Fenway if they could get their names up on the jumbotron. The answer was no, but I did one better. I put their faces up there and their wedding date on the bleachers scoreboard. Holla!!
So stay tuned, on 09.16.2012 Kim and Des will “bend” (a sailing term for connecting two ropes with a knot, I know, I’m corny) on a sailboat wedding in St. Augustine, FL.
