Inspiration Revisited – Krissy and Adam’s DIY Glam Wedding

By a show of hands: how many of you are using inspiration sites like Pinterest to plan your events? Ok, how many of you have fully executed that inspiration within the event?

I was going through email archives recently moving messages and deleting ones I don’t need anymore and I came across an email I received from Krissy early in her wedding planning process (why oh why do I have emails from two years ago?!). Krissy had attached a few images that she said represented the colors and inspiration of her wedding. She went through the rest of her wedding planning filling me in here and there on the status and I never revisited that email again. Until recently. When I opened the images and saw that Krissy’s wedding matched her inspiration detail for detail. So I went through her images and put together a comparison board just for ha-ha’s.

Disclaimer, a few of the images have photo credit right on them. Sadly, I was unable to trace back to the original photographer on the images that don’t contain a photo credit. But just to be clear, I did not photograph those images.

And here is Krissy’s real wedding.

So let’s all give Krissy and virtual high-five because I think she did an amazing job bringing her inspiration to life.

Daniel – Senior Portraits, Oviedo, Florida

I’ve been staring at this screen trying to think of a way to write about how excited I am about these images without using the word excited (I just did it two times so now what??). Excited doesn’t really encompass the emotion I have. How about pumped? I am so PUMPED to bring your Daniel’s senior portraits!! Why? Well because I’ve noticed that the current market for senior portraits is geared toward females and I just don’t think that’s fair. But also because at his core Daniel is a rock musician and rock has always been a part of my life. In shooting Daniel’s portraits I got to check off two of my current goals while also having a lot of fun joking around with Daniel and his family (mom and siblings joined us for the shoot and didn’t tease him. Much.)

Daniel graduates next month and then heads off to the University  of Florida in Gainesville. He’s pretty quiet but has a great smile and laughed at all my corny jokes (major bonus points there Daniel). I’m going to miss seeing him around town and waving at him while he’s working at the local Target but can’t wait to see where he goes in life. Who knows, maybe it will be a huge stage with lights and screaming fans.

Daniel, thank you so much for having me take your senior portraits and for being such a good sport.

The rest of these images were made using some off camera lighting. Many thanks to Daniel’s sister for coming along and being my “lighting assistant.”Behind that sweet face (sorry Daniel, I don’t think most senior boys want to be described as sweet:) lies a death metal musician (there, I made up for it).

I know Daniel would love to hear what you think so leave some comments below! Also, class of 2013 there are still a couple weeks of school left and graduation announcements are being sent soon, it’s not too late to grab a quick portrait session, hit me up here to set up your portrait session in the next two weeks and I’ll have your images ready before school lets out.

Tori – Senior Portraits, Oviedo, Florida

Quick question, what do wild turkeys, blue-eyed dogs, horses, and fireweed (which I had never heard of before this shoot!) all have in common? TORI!!!

I met up with Tori and her mom at the barn where Tori rides and boards her horse. For Tori, this was a perfect choice in location because it speaks volumes about who she is. To the core she is a horse lover, it is clear with the way she moves around the horses, cares for them, and speaks of them as though they are a friend. Tori says she is laid back, and she is, but in the most driven way possible. She has clear goals for her future and, while she may take a laid back approach, I guarantee you there is nothing that will stop her from reaching for the stars. You can see from the images that the afternoon light was stunning but when Tori smiled everything around her just seemed to glow. Her face is expressive and her laugh is spontaneous, but behind those cheerful eyes you can see a directness about Tori that will carry her far in life.

Tori, I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to the barn and sharing your senior portrait experience with me. I look forward to staying in touch with you as you move forward with the next stage of your life and bring your passion, wit, and expertise to the equine world.

Without further ado: Tori!

Remember I said Tori had an expressive face? Here’s just a couple.
Turkeys, totally invading our spot and photo-bombing! My absolute number one favorite shot of the day, a girl and her horse:Aaannnd, this is where I learned what fire weed is after Tori stepped on some, poor girl, but still rocking that expressive face!
The blue eyed dogs!!!

Join me in wishing Tori well with her future and leave her some love here in the comment section!
